LETTUCE HOPE
ABOUT US - LETTUCE HOPE: THE ALEXANDER KUSH FOUNDATION
Where urgent action meets lasting hope.
Founded by Alexander Kush at the age of 16, Lettuce Hope began with a vision: no family should lose their loved one to addiction simply because they couldn’t afford help. Today, we are a nonprofit dedicated to one of the most critical moments in the recovery journey, the intervention.

When families reach a breaking point and professional intervention is the only chance to turn the tide, we step in to cover the financial gap. Through partnerships with trusted interventionists, Lettuce Hope ensures that cost never becomes the reason a family cannot act.

Our Mission
At Lettuce Hope, our mission is to make professional interventions accessible to every family in need. We provide financial support when families cannot cover the full cost of an intervention, bridging the gap between desperation and action. We believe that intervention is the first and most decisive step toward recovery — and everyone deserves that chance.

Our Vision
We envision a world where no cry for help goes unanswered. A world where families are empowered to take action when it matters most, and where interventions open the door to treatment, healing, and a second chance at life.

Why Lettuce Hope
Intervention Impact
Every successful recovery story begins with a first step. For many, that step is an intervention — a structured, compassionate conversation led by a professional. By funding interventions, Lettuce Hope transforms financial barriers into bridges, giving families the ability to act when time is running out.

Partnerships with Professionals
We work directly with vetted intervention specialists, ensuring families have access to trusted expertise. This allows us to connect donors’ contributions directly to urgent, life-saving action.

Focused on Families
Addiction doesn’t just affect individuals — it devastates families. Lettuce Hope exists to strengthen and support families, giving them the tools and opportunity to take back hope in the face of crisis.

Our Values
-
Urgency: Addiction doesn’t wait, and neither do we. We respond to families in crisis quickly and decisively.
-
Dignity: Every individual and family deserves compassion, respect, and the right to seek healing without shame.
-
Opportunity: Intervention is not a privilege — it is a lifeline. We make sure no family is left behind.
-
Community: Recovery is stronger together. We rally donors, interventionists, and families into one movement of hope.

Why the Name
From the founder, Alexander Kush:
"The name Lettuce Hope catches people off guard, and that’s the point. It’s a reminder that even fragile things can grow strong with care. I once visited a small recovery garden at a treatment center where a client had planted lettuce during detox. Every morning, even through withdrawal, they watered it. That fragile plant became a symbol of their resilience. Today, they’re still sober. That story taught me: healing starts small, but with consistency, it grows. Lettuce Hope is about planting that first seed of change, in this case, through interventions that can save lives."
